Tsunami Wave Design Apartment Architecture
Nordic countries really understand how to produce inspiring landscape architecture. Soon a ‘tsunami wave’ shaped apartment complex containing 100 units in Vejle, Denmark, will be completed. The apartment designed by architectural firm Henning Larsen is now entering the final stages of its construction. Like a tsunami wave, an apartment called Wave is located in a complex with a height of nine floors.
The ambitious building was actually built since 2005 when the architect won the competition to design a new apartment complex in Vejle Bay. However, in 2009 the construction stopped due to the global recession. At that time, only two waves had been completed.
Construction of the last three waves only began in 2015 and is now approaching the final stage. The five top apartment designs were made deliberately to mimic the hilly areas around it as well as water ripples.
